CTS 2: Applied AV and AV Project Process
Official AVIXA Preparation Course for the CTS® Certification in Vianen, Netherlands, hosted by PureLink GmbH

In cooperation with AVIXA, the world's leading association for professional audiovisual technology

CTS 2: Applied AV and AV Project Process is the second course in AVIXA’s CTS preparation pathway. Building on the knowledge gained in CTS 1: AV Technology, participants deepen their understanding of the core competencies assessed in the CTS® examination. Through practical application and project-based learning, the course strengthens participants‘ understanding of AV technologies, project processes and industry best practices.

Upon completion of the course, participants receive an official CTS exam voucher, allowing them to schedule their examination separately at an authorised Pearson VUE test centre.

About CTS Certification

The Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) is a personal certification accredited according to ISO/IEC 17024:2012, making it the only independent professional qualification in the AV industry based on an internationally recognised ISO standard.

Unlike a standard certificate, which is often awarded simply for attending a training course, CTS certification requires candidates to successfully pass an examination administered by an independent third party, similar to certifications commonly found within the IT industry.

The CTS examination consists of 100 questions selected from a regularly reviewed and updated question pool developed by international AV experts.

Benefits of CTS Certification

After successfully passing the CTS examination, candidates earn the internationally recognised title of Certified Technology Specialist (CTS).

CTS certification provides a solid foundation for ongoing professional development within the AV industry and demonstrates a commitment to recognised industry standards and best practices.

CTS certification is valid for three years. To maintain certification, holders must complete continuing professional development activities during this period.

By achieving CTS certification, professionals demonstrate knowledge in areas including:

  • Professional audio, video, lighting and networking technologies
  • AV project planning, documentation and system design
  • Installation, commissioning and maintenance
  • Customer service and operational best practices
  • Industry standards including cable labelling, rack design, image sizing and documentation

Current Certification Standards

In accordance with ISO requirements, both the CTS programme and examination content are regularly updated to reflect current technologies and industry best practices.

The CTS examination is administered independently by Pearson VUE at authorised test centres worldwide. The CTS examination is administered independently by Pearson VUE at authorised test centres worldwide.
